Branding is a way of identifying you.  It is how the world recognizes and experience you.   A strong brand is more than just a logo; it's reflected in everything from marketing material, how you present yourself,  how you interact with your fans, and who you are.  Your brand should reflect what you stand for and what sets it apart from your competitors. Your brand expresses the qualities, strengths and 'personality' of your business.

Let's start with an easy way of planning for your brand.

In fifth grade, many of us were taught the fundamentals of writing and analyzing story to better comprehend what we were reading.  This fundamental concept was the five Ws and where are going to use them to start your brand.

Be A Person Of Substance

It is important to define who you are. Giving in to ideas or previous methodologies in the market place will only put you in a crowd of noise and it will harder for you to be heard.  Standing out will allow you to be clear and then you will be able to identify with fans who can resonate with what you and who will celebrate your brand.

What are your demographics; are they male or female (a mix of both?), what age groups are they in? Do they speak other languages? Find the demographics and, chart it.  What’s that need are you fulfilling for your audience? Are you creating a song that makes them smile and turn a bad day around?

When can seem more of a complex fundamental.  In the beginning, you have to go search physically and virtually.  This is good because you get an opportunity to see your fans/clients in their own environment.  connect with them and let them know where they can reach you and where can you reach them?

Where should focus on their physical location, where they vacation, where they hang out online, wherever you will find your audience.  Include all physical and virtual locations. WHY:

This should always encompass all the reasons your fans want to follow you. What benefits does your brand give? Letting your fans know “what’s in it for them is crucial.  Your brand’s promises create an expected outcome of engaging in with your brand and unspoken guarantee to future projects you may have.

Your content or medium should be consistent and strategic. Conveying your value creatively through one or more mediums must be the center of your branding strategy. Just because the medium is considered "hot" right now doesn't mean you should jump into that medium. Don't follow the trend. Each medium possesses its challenges and forums. Decide on the channel(s) you want to use and be consistently excellent in communicating value to your fans.

It can take a while to get your brand out into the marketplace. Many people get discouraged easily and when results are not immediate, give up.  DON’T GIVE UP - GIVE YOUR SELF SOME TIME.
