Day 8 and the summer flu or AC-overdose. Yes, the summer flu can be the worst.  Your mind is focused on sleep and your body is screaming, “WHAT THE HECK!”. Regardless, you keep telling yourself "I still gotta get it done and pull through".

This is the day is going to be a transition day for my old music. Dig through the archives of songs that I have created and a minor makeover. I'm going to dig into the archives for at least 3 to 5 years to make one of my Frankenstein creations into a Halle Berry facelift.

Today's Task

Looking into my archive I'm sure that my skills are much better. There are some things done better now as opposed to my past creative days. Older music tends to rekindle memories of past loves or provide once had when it was originally created.

You begin to questions and analyze different elements of the song.

“Why did I use those Drums?”

“Why is that melody so stiff?”

“those synths seem so outdated“

“These bars are better off as an intro”

“I can use a better bass sound for that riff“

“The bridge could be better.”

“I think that layering a piano underneath that melody would sound great. "

etc… etc…

And before you know it, you'll have a new song on your hands and you have entered the world of remixing through editing your own music.

This is a great technique for bringing all your old music that didn’t make the cut (as many would say) and didn’t have any life in your catalog. Giving your old songs a new face in a new era of music is a good thing.

See you tomorrow on Day 9.
